BUSINESS 01 — BASEBALL

MOONSHOT

Every powerful hit has a reason.

A data-driven online baseball academy in Japan focused on harder contact, extra-base power, and greater offensive performance.

Powerful contact is not random.

Every swing is the result of how the body loads, rotates, transfers force, moves the hands, delivers the barrel, and arrives at impact.

MOONSHOT makes those patterns easier to understand — and easier to train.

01WHAT HITTERS DEVELOP

Built for offensive value.

02THE PROCESS

Record → Analyze → Understand → Train → Reassess

01

RECORD

Athletes film their swing from specified angles. A smartphone and a tripod are all it takes — no special equipment, no lab visit.

02

ANALYZE

We review body movement, rotation, bat path, and timing to identify what is limiting hard contact.

03

UNDERSTAND

Findings are explained in a personalized review so the athlete understands why — not just what to fix.

04

TRAIN

A dedicated coach translates the analysis into prioritized, individualized drills that fit the athlete's age and environment.

05

REASSESS

New video is compared under the same conditions, so progress is measured — not guessed.

03WHAT THE ANALYSIS COVERS

We look at the whole swing, not one frame.

  • Full swing sequence from setup to impact
  • Head and pelvis movement
  • Pelvis and torso rotation
  • Joint angles — shoulders, elbows, knees, hips
  • Stride width
  • Hand and bat path
  • Kinematic sequence (order of movement)
  • Change versus previous submissions
  • Movements likely limiting extra-base power

Sugimoto has coached baseball for 40 years, working with thousands of hitters from youth players to elite-track athletes.

Early in his career, he ran into the limits of traditional, feel-based instruction — the same cue that worked for one hitter failed another. He became convinced the difference was not talent or effort, but mechanics that could be observed and explained. He studied exercise physiology at university and rebuilt his coaching around evidence rather than intuition.

Today, video and motion analysis make visible what once took decades of trained eyes to detect. MOONSHOT is where his 40 years of coaching experience meet that technology — applied to one hitter at a time.
